This allows a 8GB chip to record up to 180min. ==== Format the SD Chip ==== Formatting the SD Chip must be done everytime, it allows the camera to write the necessary files to the chip. It also makes sure that there is room on the card for the production. * Formatting erases all content on the SD Chip, be sure to use a card that you are not storing information on {{:manuals:cameras:menu_default.jpg?direct&200|}}{{:manuals:cameras:menu_cardfunctions-001.jpg?direct&200|}}{{:manuals:cameras:menu_cardfunctions-003.jpg?direct&200|}}{{:manuals:cameras:menu_cardfunctions-005.jpg?direct&200|}}{{:manuals:cameras:menu_cardfunctions-006.jpg?direct&200|}}{{:manuals:cameras:menu_cardfunctions-007.jpg?direct&200|}} * Push MENU to Exit the menu screens. ==== Focus Settings ==== {{ :manuals:cameras:settingup_001.jpg?direct&200 |}} === Check the focus setting === {{:manuals:cameras:focus_am.jpg?direct&200 |}} **Automatic (A)** will focus on the closest object in the center of the field of view. **Manual (M)** will allow the user to focus the camera using the outer ring when the ring selection switch is set to FOCUS. {{ :manuals:cameras:focus_indicator.jpg?direct&200 |}} *In this picture, the Outer ring on the camera would control the IRIS. ==== White Balance ==== {{:manuals:cameras:awb_button.jpg?direct&200 |}}At the front of the camera, just underneath the lens, you will find the Auto White Balance (AWB) button. * Point your camera at a white source, zoom in to fill the frame, then hold the AWB button down. * When you see ABB ACTIVE, the white balance has been set. ==== Iris Control ==== {{ :manuals:cameras:iris_button.jpg?direct&200 |}} * Pushing the Iris button will switch between Manual Iris and Auto Iris. * Auto Iris will set the camera to automatically adjust the iris depending upon the light available within the field of view. * Manual Iris will allow you to adjust the iris. {{ :manuals:cameras:iris_wheel.jpg?direct&200 |}} * When in Manual Iris mode, the wheel to the left of the button will control the iris. ==== Setting the Iris - Zebra Stripes ==== * Zebra stripes appear on areas of the image that are overexposed. In those areas, no detail is recorded because the light is too intense. * A picture is properly exposed when there are no, or very few, zebra striped areas in the image. {{ :manuals:cameras:iris_zebras.jpg?direct&200 |}} * Do not rely on how the image “looks” in the LCD monitor to determine correct exposure because the LCD monitor shows brightness inaccurately. * Always use zebra stripes. {{ :manuals:cameras:iris_zebrabutton.jpg?direct&200 |}} * Push the ZEBRA Button until ZEBRA2 100% appears in the LCD monitor. * Now use the dial to close the iris until the zebras are nearly gone. ==== Sound ==== === Selecting sound inputs === {{:manuals:cameras:sound_switches.jpg?direct&200|}} * Two sources of audio can be recorded to the camera simultaneously. * Audio signals is controlled by two switches behind the LCD monitor and two switches on the front of the camera {{:manuals:cameras:sound_switches.jpg?direct&200|}} === Setting the audio level === {{:manuals:cameras:audio_dials.jpg?direct&200|}} * Use the Audio dials on the side of the camera to set the level of sound coming into each channel. === Monitoring the audio level === {{:manuals:cameras:sound_meters.jpg?direct&200|}} * Use the Audio meter on the bottom of the LCD monitor to view the audio levels. * If the audio is bouncing above the white hash marks, adjust the audio dials down to lower the input level. ==== ALWAYS USE HEADPHONES ==== {{:manuals:cameras:headphones.jpg?direct&200|}} To monitor audio quality, plug headphones into the jack on the back of the camera.
