Total Import

USE WHEN EITHER THE PROGRAM OR SHOW ELEMENTS ARE ON DVD FOR EDITING AND/OR MPG-ING DVDS.

  1. Open the DVD Drive on the computer by pushing the eject button
  2. Put your DVD into the Drive, and push the button again to close the sled  Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you push the sled back into the DVD Drive. (This can break the Drive motors and suspend your membership privileges.)
  3. Wait for the light on the DVD Drive to stop flashing, it should be flashing green.
    1. If the light flashes any other color, find help from a CVCTV Staff Member.
  4. When the light stops flashing, the computer will open an AUTO PLAY window
  5. Please stop the video and close this window.
  6. To Open Total Import: Double-Click the Icon on the Desktop
  7. Once Total Import is open:
  8. Click BROWSE and navigate to where the DVD is.
  9. This will open the DVD in the DVD panel, Check the box for the title on the DVD
  10. Under Destination:
    1. Local Storage: where you want to save the file that will be created. Put YOUR Hard Drive Extension and Location in this area.
    2. Temporary Storage: You may leave alone. If you really wish, you may put the same information of YOUR Hard Drive Extension and Location in this area.
    3. Filename: NAME YOUR FILE. Note – If you are working with a DVD with more than one (1) title on it, you will not be able to enter any data in this field.
    4. Filename Prefix: DO NOT ENTER ANY DATA in this field.
    5. Overwrite if output file exists: Uncheck this box.
  11. Hit Start.
  12. Total Import will run, in the panel to the left of the Start button it will give you updates with what it is doing. When it is done it will say FINISHED.
  13. If you have more DVDs to grab video from, go back to #1 and repeat the steps. If you are done, close the program and goto Adobe Premiere to edit.
