Channel Play Guidelines

GUIDELINES FOR COMMUNITY CHANNEL VIDEOS (993)

To play on the Community Channel, Videos must pass this muster:

  1. Frame Size: 640×480 or 720×540 (square pixel, 4:3) OR 1920×1080, Center Cut video frame (16:9)
  2. File Format: MPG-2
  3. Camera Framing: Steady shot, Not overly shaky video, Main subjects are within the frame, Main subject is in focus, Color balance makes sense for the shot.
  4. Audio: Voices, Voice Overs, Music is within -6 to -12 dB. Audio is the same on both channels – MONO.

Programs to play on the Community Channel, MUST BE RECEIVED by Chippewa Valley Community Television NO LESS THAN 96 hours (4 days) before play date/time of program.

GUIDELINES FOR GOVERNMENT CHANNEL VIDEOS (994)

To play on the Government Channel, Videos must pass this muster:

  1. MUST BE SHOT BY VALLEY MEDIA WORKS | CHIPPEWA VALLEY COMMUNITY TELEVISION EMPLOYEE.
  2. Audio: Voices, Voice Overs, Music is within -6 to -12 dB. Audio is the same on both channels – MONO. No pops, hums, buzzes, or bugs in the audio – MUST BE CLEAN, and able to understand clearly. Clear Audio Voice Over at front and end of program stating what the program is.
  3. Color: Subjects must be appropriate color for video. Background must be appropriate color. WHITE BALANCE/BLACK BALANCE SETTING MUST MATCH.
  4. Editing: Straight Cuts, Dissolves – Only when Necessary, No Wipes, No extra effects
  5. Graphics: Lower third identifying program – throughout entire program. Graphic identifying cvctv.org throughout entire program. Front and End slates – Full Screen
  6. File Format:
    1. MPG-2 (for station play) AND H.264 (for online play).
    2. 720×540 (4:3) (For Station Play). AND 1280×720 (16:9) (Center cut) (For online play).
  7. Camera Framing: Use Tripod or Steadicam.
